Remaining Training Classes 2018 + Scheduling for 2019
We have several classes coming up to finish off the 2018 training year. All classes have at least a couple of spaces available.
Direct Action (Ambush / Raid) November 3 -4: This was the HEAT 2 class, but was changed to a two day Direct Action class. This involves:
- Saturday: Focus on live fire ambush.
- Sunday: focus on Attack i.e. hasty attack & raid.
- HEAT 1 / CTT alumni only.

Close Quarter Battle Course November 30 – December 2: This is the essential three day CQB class, which was cancelled and moved to these dates due to the hurricane. There are 2 spots left.
- Live fire Friday, UTM Saturday / Sunday.
- Open Enrollment.

Defensive Concealed Handgun December 1 – 2: This is a practical class for everyday carriage of a concealed handgun and its employment in self-defense. It is not a typical ‘CCW’ class. Essential for all members of your family who carry an concealed handgun.
Hostile Environment Advanced Tactics 1 (HEAT 1) December 6 – 9: This is MVT’s benchmark class for combat marksmanship and team tactics. This is a four day live fire class Thursday – Sunday.
The training schedule for 2019 has not been written yet, other than a couple of specific (private) bookings. I wrote a post on the MVT Forum concerning scheduling for 2019 and going forwards, and here is the summary of it below:
One of the biggest challenges is to schedule a year ahead for open enrollment classes. Such early scheduling also blocks out the calendar for other opportunities such as private / mobile / SF events; sometimes we get it right, sometimes we get it wrong and have to scramble to fill the odd class. So we have been discussing a new strategy for how to schedule and how to bring you the training that you want, while retaining some flexibility in the schedule.
We will be putting out an initially extremely lean open enrollment schedule for 2019. Literally something like a HEAT 1 spring and a HEAT 1 fall. We will put in a CQBC and an AirSim FoF, along with some special AirSim events and the Combat Leader Course, at some point in the year.
There is now a significant change to open enrollment classes which puts more of the control on students. Read below:
We currently offer mobile classes (truck or fly-in) anywhere in the United States (where firearms / training is legal) for a flat daily rate of $2500 all up. That is a heck of a deal when you yourself do not have to travel. See HERE for mobile class information.
We are now offering a solution to questions over demand / scheduling for open enrollment classes at the VTC: we will offer privately organized classes at the VTC for $1800 a day, max number 12. Organizers should approach MVT with a sufficient number of people interested, and we will schedule a class when dates are agreed. We can open it up to open enrollment to boost numbers once dates are booked with minimum numbers,.
This means that we will run classes when a bunch of students organize and when they want the class. Thus we know we have the demand and the right date to schedule it! No more shots in the dark a year ahead of time.
Remember, there will be the two open enrollment HEAT 1’s per year for people who simply cannot organize, and a smattering of other scheduled open enrollment classes, such as CQBC etc.
