Daily Photo Log: Texas Combat Team Tactics / Mobility Class

I’m currently down in Texas running the ‘MVT CTT/Mobility-Convoy Class, Brady, Texas 18-22 Feb 2015.’

This is a great area for this training. I’ll try and get some photos and update this post daily as the class continues.

    • Two nights in a row. Had to take a field dump today as a result. That thing came on fast. Managed to dig a cat hole and take care of business just in time. Had to kill it with the shovel before I could bury it.
      Mexican tonight for good measure.
      ;-)

  1. Dammit! You’re just 2hrs northwest of me! I wish I would have had the 1500 bucks for the course. Ah, I guess I’ll catch you next time you’re in my neck of the woods. Hopefully it’ll be before the other shoe drops!

  2. The one photo of the man in the prone next to some wooden stake either in Multicam or MTP has a good camo match except for the flesh tone of the hand and face. Can’t wait for the photos of the technical.

  3. Looks like good training time. Also looks just like Camp Pendleton. As far as camo goes, when you’ve got that open straw colored ground with scrub brush, we used a tan colored trou with a green colored top. For example, a desert trou, and woodland top. It breaks a 6′ figure into a 3′ “scrub brush”. Even if they see you, makes range estimation harder.

Man that terrain is the exact opposite of my AO. Having a couple of guys with 7.62 would be nice.

For actual patrols, Max, do you think “mobility vehicles” would be the way to go out there? At least for insertion and extraction in different areas of your AO? Or for re-supply and casevac.

A read a nice book about that once, called “Patriot Dawn”, think it was.

  4. Ha! That place is the exact opposite of FOB Velocity! Maybe you should hold the MVT Challenge there…
