As we reach the end of 2025, we still have a couple of classes that have space available:

We have the Texas Classes coming up towards the end of February 2026. Those classes are looking good and HEAT 1 Combat Tactics only has one space available, with the Texas Alumni Live Fire Class looking almost full at this time.

I’m getting ready to start scheduling classes for Romney for 2026. I need some personal dates to fall into place before I put out an initial schedule of events. I will make an announcement when I do the initial schedule. What that may look like is a selection of the standard classes, such as HEAT 1. At this time I do not intend to schedule the CQB class, and I’m debating Trench Assault, simply due to demand not being there in 2025. Great classes, lots of good training and information, so I’m not sure what was up, and it may just come down to a bad weekend being picked. I am open to feedback if you do want to see a class scheduled.

Re: scheduling of classes: we do still have the forum section for getting a group together for a class. I get it, forums have gone the way of the dodo and I’m not sure how many people are still reading it. However you decide to do it, if I do not put a class on the schedule, and you want to do that class, I’m not going to do it as an individual request. I need to see a few of you willing to train, and then I will agree dates and put that class on the schedule.

One of the biggest issues for MVT classes is the requirement to have a decent sized group in order to train the team aspect. That saw me scrambling for numbers on some classes in 2025. The live fire classes see the need for multiples of four, but we make it work however many we end up with. In particular, Squad Tactics can be an issue for numbers, but guys stepped up and made it happen this year. Squad Tactics will be scheduled again for September 2026. It needs to ideally have thirteen students to make a three-team squad with a squad leader. The link to the squad tactics page shows the new format which we ran this year, with many more missions and staying out in the field all day. I would like to run one of these in the Spring, but it just depends on numbers. The last thing I want to do it schedule two classes and then not make the numbers on either one!

I am also open to private classes. Whether that be at Romney or another location. That is how the twelve-year-running Texas class started.

On the personal side, I am still doing mounted shooting and Civil War Cavalry reenactments. Mounted shooting is mostly over for the year, but we have the final reenactment event coming up with the Cedar Creek Battle Reenactment on the 18-19 October. Maybe I will see you in the crowd?

I recently published my third novel, which is shown below. Lot’s of information is available via my manuals and novels, which contain genuine military tactics. A great read over the winter!
