So recently I learned that Wolf is importing T91 uppers from Taiwan. They were $600 at launch, now they’re like $450 with a charging handle and BCG. A hell of a lot less than any other piston uppers and they seem to have a couple of decades of real-world use to back up the platform, any of you guys have experience with them?

I was already planning on trying to snatch up some extra lowers before any panic or bans kick in, sounds like an interesting project.

I don’t really know shit from nothing but my view is that fooling around with extra parts ( Piston) is asking for trouble at some point.

            Agree.

Adding moving parts to a system makes it less reliable, not more.

DI guns are fine if you pay for quality.

                Stay away from piston AR’s.

It does nothing to “increase the reliability” of the AR system. It adds weight and extra parts.

There is a reason that they didn’t take off when first introduced.

Agreed. This is a solution looking for a problem. If the AR needed an op rod, Stoner would have given it one. Technically I don’t think you can retrofit a DI gun with another op system and expect it to work. One of those sounds great in theory sucks in reality things.

If they ran they probably wouldn’t be sold off as surplus right now. I would bet the uppers going back on all those lowers (if not destroyed) would be DI systems.

Buy the big bottle of SLIP 2000 EWL and keep it lubed.
