I’m sure most of you guys are hearing this already if you have as many news apps on your phone as I do (I lost count), but it looks like they were cleared on weapons and conspiracy charges.

I’m sure the Feds are still going to try and get them for something but this is still surprising.

This is surprisingly good news, quite unexpected of course. Sounds like jury nullification in progress. What is disturbing to me, is the following, from ‘The Oregonian” news online, just immediately after the verdict:

“The coda to the stunning verdict, undoubtedly a significant blow to federal prosecutors, was when Ammon Bundy’s lawyer Marcus Mumford argued that his client, dressed in a gray suit and white dress shirt, should be allowed to walk out of the court, a free man.

U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown told him that there was a U.S. Marshal’s hold on him from a pending federal indictment in Nevada.

Oregon Standoff defendant Jeff Banta is relieved by acquittals
“If there’s a detainer, show me,” Mumford stood, arguing before the judge.

Suddenly, a group of about six U.S. Marshals surrounded Mumford at his defense table and grabbed on to him.

“What are you doing?” Mumford yelled, as he struggled and was taken down to the floor.

As deputy marshals yelled, “Stop resisting,” the judge demanded, “Everybody out of the courtroom now!”

Mumford was taken into custody, a member of his legal team confirmed.

Ammon Bundy’s lawyer J. Morgan Philpot, said afterwards on the courthouse steps that Mumford had been arrested and marshals had used a stun gun, or Taser, on his back. That could not be independently confirmed.”

Clearly, TPTB are more than just annoyed, and taking matters into their own hands, apparently quite illegally. Everyone should take note of this reprehensible behavior on the part of the State. In the end, the State only knows Force, despite the platitudes they offer.

It will not surprise me one bit if Ammon Bundys’ trial is moved to a different venue, and Cliven Bundys’ trial as well, ie not just physically different, but culturally different, ie a blue zone. There are several reasons available to the defense of a defendant, not so sure about the prosecution. But they will try no matter, legal or not, because they cannot appear to be weak and losing control.

I want to know is Cliven Bundy still alive? What hell are they raining down upon a 70 year old man, not in the light of the day, but in their dungeons?

I would conjecture that if Cliven Bundy were to die in custody, no matter the reason, the gloves will come off.

Wow. I am shocked they got off those charges. Maybe the presence of all the agent provacateurs swayed the jury.

                  Unfortunately it’s not quite over…

                  Excerpt:

The coda to the stunning verdict, undoubtedly a significant blow to federal prosecutors, was when Ammon Bundy’s lawyer Marcus Mumford argued that his client, dressed in a gray suit and white dress shirt, should be allowed to walk out of the court, a free man.

U.S. District Judge Anna J. Brown told him that there was a U.S. Marshal’s hold on him from a pending federal indictment in Nevada.

“If there’s a detainer, show me,” Mumford stood, arguing before the judge.

Suddenly, a group of about six U.S. Marshals surrounded Mumford at his defense table. The judge directed them to move back but moments later, the marshals grabbed on to him.

Another member of Ammon Bundy’s legal team Rick Koerber, echoed Philpot, saying he heard Mumford questioning in court why they were using a Taser against him.

Philpot decried the marshals’ treatment of Mumford in the courtroom. “What happened at the end is symbolic of the improper use of force by the federal government,” he said.

By 6:30 p.m., Mumford was released from custody. He confirmed that he was struck with a stun gun once while he was on the floor of the courtroom.

“I grew up on a dairy farm, so am I used to some rough treatment, sure?” he said. But he said the actions of the U.S. marshals were uncalled for.

“All I was asking for was papers. Just show me you have the authority to take Mr. Bundy into custody.”

…what happens next will be interesting.

Seems pretty ridiculous behavior by Marshals.

Seems we are thinking in parallel. Gonna have to construct a tin foil hat it seems.

Should help Finicum’s family with a wrongful death fight.

Can you just imagine how raving pissed-off those Marshals were after hearing all of those NOT-GUILTY readings. Bunch of THUGS. Very interesting that they disregarded the Judge.

I read those links this morning. What is even more stunning was the public commentary against the verdict. That these white guys with guns were innocent seems to be a tough pill for some to swallow besides just the Feds. Just shows the chasm that exists in this country is just getting wider. There are some who do not want to be freed from their chains and would gladly sacrifice any of us to remain in them.

                            For example this tweet:

                            (((Garrett Khoury)))
                            @KhouryGarrett
We all laughed when it was over, thinking #YallQaeda was going to jail. The not guilty verdicts are preposterous. #Oregonstandoff

This is the closest thing to jury nullification as we’ve seen in years. Maybe as more if the liberty minded folk FIGHT with small steps of protest we will continue to see more and more of this. The biggest protest is a simple, No. And then let the fedgov take it from there. As we’ve seen, the group in Oregon said, “No.” And they were all found not guilty. Future looks interesting.

Imagine the outcry if some Rationalist denigrated some lib associating them to a terrorist for their principles.

This isn’t necessarily jury nullification, one problem for the Socialists is liberals “feel” more than they “think” and in Oregon you have more liberals than not. If they feel for them it’s harder to convict.

Additionally most of what we hear about the case is filtered through “media” and medias interpretation of facts presented and juries will defer greatly.

Lastly “Jury Nullification” happens more often than you realize, but the code word is “surprise verdict.” Socialist media is not going to report juries flexing their power and help spread the word.

                                    Verdict: Fuck yeah.

Marshals & Mumford: 6 Marshals in cahoots…roughing up a defense lawyer…on the courtroom floor…literally in front of a federal judge…

Seems to me that the Marshals should be charged with “Contempt of Court”.

This might piss off some people but from day one I have thought that much of the Bundy driven drama has been half witted. Max during the first episode had the best compromise to turn that shit sandwich into shit sandwich on rye with mayo but still the Bundy’s live in an echo chamber and a bunch of wannabee operators showing up and flashing ARs at the equally or more dimwitted FEEBs was tard theatre.

But then again the “conservative” versus “liberal” political theater in general is all tard at all times, YMMV.
