        All:
There are some folks locally who have fallen into the Trump Slump. (or perhaps never had the real motivation to begin with)

Looking for suggestions on how to get these folks back in the saddle so to speak, in the gym, rucking, or get them on the range. I’ve attempted to lead from the front with them for well over a year with little to no results. Are there any suggestions from the forum crew on getting folks going?

…before I give up completely on them in this area.

It’s honestly a struggle for everyone here. I’m not sure there is some magic answer to getting people amped up to go train. The best you can do is take care of yourself and network with people who actually are motivated.

In 32 years of doing this, I’ve seen people and I have myself attempted to “drag” people that were not self motivated.

            IT NEVER WORKS OUT WELL.

Seriously. Let them know YOU are still active and whenever they are ready you are ready.

If they lack the self motivation for self preservation, they are literally not worth your efforts.

Read the poem Summer Soldiers and Sunshine Patriots. It fits our situation right now pretty well.

Many become shortsighted in times of relative comfort.

The election of President Trump has bought us time to prepare, but not a solution.

A “black swan” event could hit tomorrow or we could end up with relative easytimes through a second term.

It appears many are only motivated only out of fear, so anything short of a major Socialist victory during these midterm elections will not motivate them.

I agree, Trump has caused many to get a bit lazy and soft. This is not a time to slack off but to prepare, use the economic boom to solidify your preps.

During the last POTUS we had 2 gatherings across my state with close to 40 people testing preps and running through scenarios. Last year with a possible hurricane disruption and a downturn in numbers the event was canceled. This year the people running the event decided people were not ready to do the scenario event and decided to offer a 2 day range day. Its frustrating, but as Heraclitus states out of 100 men, 9 are true fighters and 1 is a true warrior.

While at this moment, Trump has a good shot of getting re-elected in 2020 tomorrow is not guaranteed especially if the opposition has their way.

Well, MVT ia feeling it. Look at how hard it is in the other post about HEAT 2 / Direct Action Nov 3-4.

If people are not motivated to show up to MVT training, MVT goes away. This is not what I want, given the years of blood sweat and tears invested.

But the training side of MVT needs people to be motivated to sign up and invest in themselves. Build the whole warrior.

Given the sacrificemof MVT cadre and families over the past 5 years to bring you this immensely valuable training, I am frankly digusted that HEAT 2 Nov 1- 4 will likely have to go away. And I am not sure the DA replacement will get enough interest.

Alumni seem to be, on the whole, fair weather friends. Not impressed.
