One dozen 110 conibear traps and you will be eating all the squirrel you need. I know that would not work while in the middle of small unit actions, but if in your AO you could set these up they can sure keep you fed. In your ruck I would recommend snares for the weight. 1 doz snares equals only ounces. For calories expended it beats hunting.
I concur..Such tasks are on the list of list. In a secure base such types of harvests are appropriate. One guy went and got his trapping license for when we do it.
