What can residents of other states do to help? Im from PA and I made a donation to VCDL about two weeks ago. Anything else? It’s only a matter of time until this bs comes here.

I have also sent some money to the VCDL. I think the fight to save the 2A in Virginia will be a training ground for when the same thing happens in the rest of the country.

            Some random thoughts:

-It’s good that people are getting local sheriffs on side, but do not ignore judges and district attorneys. They need to be on side as well. Any warrant, either arrest or search, has to be signed by a judge; and the district attorney has to decide whether to file charges. If you have a county where the judges won’t sign unconstitutional warrants, the DA won’t file unconstitutional charges, and the LEOs won’t make unconstitutional arrests, you are a long way towards making the laws unenforceable. If the case cannot be filed in the county in which it occurred, that throws it into a higher state court, which cannot handle a high volume of cases.

-Start lining up sympathetic defense attorneys now. You will need them, and it is better if they have prepared by reading relevant case law. As I recall, the leftist terrorists in 60s and 70s always had legal representation available from the Lawyers’ Guild. The 2A side needs a similar stable of lawyers ready to go.

-There should be a legal defense fund specifically for defending people who choose to defy this law. It could be used to pay legal fees for citizens fighting criminal charges, and to help out unemployed LEOs fired for refusing to enforce the law.

-Consider volunteering as a reserve LEO. Small towns and rural counties are usually chronically short of police manpower, and will generally welcome a competent volunteer officer. A competent and dedicated reserve officer or deputy can rise to a position of influence within the department after a few years. This gives you a chance to influence the stance of the department, and it also gives a pro-2A sheriff or chief some officers who don’t have to fear losing a salary or pension if the county becomes a 2A sanctuary. At least where I live, police pensions are controlled at the state level, which gives a hostile state government some leverage over a rebellious county.

              13. Massive turnouts continue – Amelia County photos (see lead image above)

The massive crowd flooded the Board of Supervisors room, the hallways, and out into the front of the building! Supervisors will vote on the Resolution next meeting. Looks like it will be a win! Sheriff also said he supports the resolution. I was the second speaker of the evening.

Around 1/2 a roll of GSL stickers was used up! I’m estimating we gave out 300 to 400 stickers.

Senator Amanda Chase and Delegate John McGuire spoke. McGuire announced a few days ago that he is going to run against Congresswoman Abigale Spanberger in the 7th Congressional District. 😉

              About half the crowd outside:

Powhatan (my county) passed it last night, 3-2. The 2 that voted no were not opposed, but wanted to make sure we had the Sheriff and the Commonwealth’s Attorney involved for comment. I think we’ll be having a workshop with new/old BoS, Sheriff, and CA so that everyone knows what being a 2A sanctuary county actually means…

related, might be a good site for tracking 2A sanctuary activity: https://keepva2a.com/ . I have no affiliation, etc, someone posted on the local nextdoor.com site.

                get/stay involved!
