“Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom.”
        —John F. Kennedy

Are you trained, fit and ready? Do you have a fireteam?

Since we’re talking JFK – “Those who make peaceful revolution impossible will make violent revolution inevitable.”

While I don’t know the timing (even a broke clock is right twice daily, right?), we certainly seem to be playing this out.

So I’ll echo Max’s questions — Are you trained?? Are you fit?? Are you ready??

Working on all of it. Really stepped it up this year on all fronts.

In an initial stage; beginning to happen or develop.

So ironic that one of the poster boys for modern American leftists is so often quoted by modern American non-leftists.

Of course people getting hung up on the quote I pulled from the article. The article itself is the interesting part.

Not “hung up”… Just think it’s ironic.

The article itself is interesting, but somewhat “beating a dead horse”. We all know the leftists are out of their f*cking minds. Many of us have read “The Fourth Turning” and so know that “war” is pretty much a given at this point. The only questions are when, and how?

A “nation of minutemen” is a nice fantasy – akin to the “anarcho-capitalist” ideal world… I agree the NEED is there, but if people ain’t got their shit together by now, I don’t think most will make an attempt until the bullets start flying.

I’m curious if anyone in the US is keeping up with our Canadian news. Main media is bought by Lib govt. The left is doing what we consider insane things. Latest firing Don Cherry for saying “you people”.
Universities have professors spewing ideological socialist garbage. It is a real attack on western culture and freedoms. Forced speech is now Canadian law! The left is dangerous and dividing people. Mass immigration is also greatly increasing crime levels. Trudeau has given $55 million out to terrorists living in Canada.
I’m afraid the US will first build a wall to your north if this insanity prevails.

IMO the article is the usual right wing clickbait, and per usual all these CONservatives do is to make sure we never question the legitimacy of the authorities or the establishment, he might as well said “Don’t talk in a disrespectable manner to authority.” CONservatism is a cargo cult for smart dorky balless boys, like skinny teen boys sitting on the edge of a chair in the principal’s office trying to explain themselves.

If the editors and writers at the New York Times stepped off a cliff, these CONs would throw themselves off and try to beat them to the rocks below.

Since I’m 4G I would dare both sets of idiots to defy gravity and then go take their stuff and live my life, fuck em both.

You know, at this point, I view both sides as essentially twin threats to my liberty. If you look at both Republican and Demo parties, they have both been co-opted by powerful government lobbies, so really the little guy is getting squeezed out in the center. Neither side really represents me, and my core values anymore. Much less these little parties of useful idiots, on either side of the aisle, who are just stirring the pot.

Both sides can wrap themselves in the flag, and quote the founding fathers until the cows come home; it’s all bullshit to justify their agendas, and frankly I tire of it.

To the OP, yeah there is probably a good chance that violence could break out. But which side is revolting, about what, remains to be seen. It’s a fucking clown show, with both sides pointing at the other and saying we gotta fix all that shit, yo. So yes, we are definitely heading for some kind of violent revolution, that much is clear, just when it will take place is the question. 2020? I’m sure the agitators will be out there with their faux-outrage at whatever happens, but will that get people off their ass, one way or the other? Dunno.

I totally agree Diz. Both sides are hell bent at winning no matter the cost to our Republic. And if we are in danger of a socialistic society, we are in equal danger of a despotic regime. Our current situation reminds me of the bloody internecine transition from the Roman Republic to the Roman Empire (from the Consulships of Marius & Sulla, to the rule of Augustus).

It’s really not about what is right anymore, it’s about which side ‘wins’.

And it’s not just the political left and right that are pissed off. The majority of America resides in the middle, and we are equally pissed off at a Government (both parties) that allowed unbridled corporate greed to gut the middle class.

Unfortunately I see no way but through. But we might not like what comes after.
