This is a pretty short to the point article talking about our shortcomings if we have to throw down with our friends in the far east.

The current key to isolating China to China would be the U.S. Navy’s attack submarine fleet.

Currently we are unequalled in this area.

The real questions are the these so called carrier killers as good as advertised and if they are will we use submarines first or after major losses among carrier groups.

Remember it was only after the Pacific Fleet Battleship force was decimated that we; out of necessity, turned to carriers.

Unfortunately it may take such events to again out of necessity turn to Submarines.

Understand I am not talking about any offensive ground operations, but offensive containment of PRC forces.

I have often posted elsewhere that China in many ways is similar to the position Japan was in the early stages (pre-US involment) of WWII. They were desperate for resources. So is China. Many of those resources had to be brought to japan by sea. China has a similar problem.

Our submarine fleet was instrumental in hastening the fall of Japan, as will probably happen to China.

The last thing China needs or wants is shortages that will impact their population or piss off their military. The Chinese Communist Party could very well face a major internal problem if things get too bad.

Ultimately that’s the way to solve PRC problem!

Isolate, deny, and let Chinese people change things.
