This is the really dangerous ban legislation, that the Dems / Tyrants have been sitting on for a bit. Read below for VCDL comment. Passed comittee. Reposted from @vcdl_official HB961 passed committee Crowd erupted, live feed was cut, VSP formed a riot line in front of the committee, all in attendance were given 30 seconds to leave the assembly or be arrested for trespassing. Committee went back to business in an empty chamber. . . It passed committee, still has to go to a full House vote before it’s law.
Up here in MD killing stuff in committee is usually the safest bet.
Doesn’t look good.

oh! i see now, i was of the impression that it had passed the house already. thought it was too early.
still, the house there is one sided, so its likely to pass into law then.
while GA isn’t as slanted, i’m still worried if the same bill here will end up passing.
if it can happen in the NRA’s back yard…
also wonder if this is a move to push guns father away from DC proper in expectation, but may be paranoia talking.

Looking at the numbers, I don’t see this bill not passing the House, even if you take one or two Dems like Lee Carter who have said they wouldn’t support an AWB, we’re still like eight short.
Our last hope is that we get one or two conservative Dem Senators to reject the bill and kill it, even if that puts them at risk of being primaried by Bloomberg goons next election cycle.
Anybody doing intel work might want to start taking record of some of those officers too.
The NRA is a joke at this point, if they weren’t busy with lawyers over the NRATV debacle and being LaPierre’s personal slush fund they might actually been able to fight this off.

there are maybe 4 senators that are opposed to it, or at least they WERE. They were prepared to drop this as the eighth of eight bills Coonman (northam) said they MUST pass. They have changed the language 3-4 times now, first to registration, then grandfathering, felony becomes misdemeanor, etc. in order to make it more palatable to those opposed. I’ve spoken to Lynwood Lewis (Senate) and he is opposed to anything that attacks “inanimate objects” vs. the real problem (criminals/people).
At 11am today, the full house convenes and they vote on it. My guess is that it passes with maybe 1-3 D’s not voting for it. Then it goes to Senate committee where it might die. If not, and it goes to the floor, we might see a 20-20 tie where the rapist (alleged?) LT Gov gets to be the tiebreaker. He WILL vote for it.
Regardless, if it passes, be sure they will use it as the foot in the door and will add to it. If it does not pass, it’s coming back next session or God forbid, the second we have another mass shooting event.
A guy I know was the one that filmed the cops at the hearing. There were maybe 20 anti-gun people there (the usual crowd, MDA, Lauri Haas, etc) and 300+ pro-gun. The hall was packed with people that could not get in. THe irony is lost on the politicians I am sure – using men with the very things they are trying to ban to force their will on unarmed peasants. This should help us understand that the VSP and CP value their dental plans and retirement plans more than liberty and law.

as an update, it appears that hb 961 is pushed back to 2021.
apparently, there is a report to be filed to support the bill or to dispute the claims in order to continue.
that’s a bit of a breather, least for Virginia, for now.
however, if i was to hazard to guess, this is probably going to be reviewed after the upcoming elections, hince the postponement.
